I'm pretty sure my host mother loves the Soviet Union. So far we have talked about cosmonauts and how Russia doesn't have open factories any more. And something else about economics, I forget what. It's an interesting attitude, common among people her age as I understand.
Also, feminism is basically nonexistent and people are very uncomfortable about homosexuality. See the post Darcy made. Also, there apparently is no word for heterosexual. They just say "normal." But in Russian, duhhh.
I guess I make it sound pretty bad here. But nah, it's really not. It is just really different in a lot of ways.
